Oben Rorr Review: Day 1 on the highway, the bike went dead.

I paid 100% in advance, waited nearly five months, and took delivery of a new Oben Rorr EVO. Within hours it lost all power in the fast lane, surged forward on its own in Karol Bagh traffic, and by Day 2 was on a flatbed tow truck. This is the documented, dated record — and what Oben said when I asked for a replacement.

What Oben won't tell you

Six things that happened in the first 72 hours

Each point links to the dated detail and the evidence behind it.

Safety

Total power cut in the fast lane

On a flyover on the GT Road / Tis Hazari stretch, the console went blank and the motor cut out with heavy traffic behind me. It happened twice more before I reached Karol Bagh.

Safety

Throttle surging with no input

In stop-go traffic on Faiz Road the bike crept forward by itself. The accessory workshop's technicians saw it happen in their shop and told me not to ride it home.

On video

Dash frozen at 37 km/h

On delivery night the instrument cluster locked at 37 km/h while I was moving — no live speed, range or mode. On 28 October the screen went completely blank in traffic. Both recorded.

Service

Flatbed tow on Day 2

I was told the bike was ridden to the Peeragarhi service centre, its charge fell below the 50% riding limit, and it had to come back on a roadside-assistance flatbed.

Paperwork

Insurance issued before I saw the bike

A policy was issued in my name five days before delivery, without my signature, with add-ons I didn't choose and without Return-to-Invoice or battery cover.

Response

“Replacement or refund cannot be offered”

That was Oben's written answer. Shortly after I escalated, the one staff member who had helped me stopped answering my calls.
